Demanovska Valley is the most visited locality in the Low Tatra Mountains and is (Demanovska dolina) spreading over the northern part of the Low Tatra Mountains. Ideal ski slopes, widely famous caves, possibilities for the summer tourism, beautiful fauna and flora, and suitable climatic conditions have contributed to the development of the tourist spot in the area. Gradually, Jasna has been developed into the larger ski and tourist centre in Europe. The resort is stretching over the northern hills of Chopok (the second highest peak in the main ridge of the Low Tatras) and Derese in the height from 950 to 2024 m as little as 15 km from Liptovsky Mikulas and 12 km from Demanova. Jasna is a part of the National Park of the Low Tatras.

JASNA IN WINTER

The ski resort Jasna is one of the most modern and famous centres in Slovakia. There are significant down-hill ski slopes as well as various cross-country traces of different difficulty levels. Here are some numbers:

• it is divided into 4 parts: Chopok-sever Zahradky, Jasna, Otupne and Chopok-juh
• it has 31 km long ski slopes (22 km in the northern and 9 km in the southern part of the Chopok)
• you can use the ski slopes of all difficulty levels that guarantee enjoyable skiing for all types of skiers
• for little skiers - 6 ski lifts appropriate for children
• ski lifts and cableways run from an altitude of 900 m up to 2004 m
• 12 km long key ski slopes are covering with snow produced by 96 static snow guns
• about 2 km long ski slopes lit for night skiing
• overall transport capacity of the northern and southern cableways is more than 21 000 people in 1 hour
• the resort offers 2 maintained traces for cross-country skiing, too

• for those who keen on extreme sports and wild ride there are 5 freeride zones with great snow conditions
• free entrance to the snowboard park for adrenaline fans during the whole winter season

JASNA IN SUMMER

In summer Jasna opens its gates and recovers its secrets for those who keen on tourism and natural beauties. The Low Tatras ridge and significant countryside sceneries attract thousands of tourists who like fresh air activities. Less capable tourist can use cable-cars to get to the peak. A 4-seat cableway is available in Chopok-sever which leads from Otupne to Lukova and when the weather is nice, a 4-seat cableway runs from Srdiecko to Kosodrevina.
